Terms and Conditions

There is no specific theme, as we want to celebrate contemporary art. However, all artwork submitted must be suitable for viewing by people of all ages. Please submit no more than one entry per person.

We are encouraging applications from all ages and abilities, from professionals to amateurs. The exhibition has no specific theme because we want to celebrate contemporary art; any style of artwork, medium, media, and format are welcome, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, performance, live art, film, textile, interdisciplinary, workshops/participatory, text-based, digital, or object-based. We are open to suggestions.

Please ensure all the information required is submitted with your exhibition entry. Submissions may be rejected if we do not have all this information.

By submitting artwork to the Summer Exhibition, you agree to your artwork being shared on Pop Up Cultures’ Social Media platforms and related websites.

Copyright and Publicity

Copyright of the artwork remains with the artist. By emailing your entry to the competition the artist agrees that his/her/their work can be used for promotional purposes including social media. The Summer Exhibition/Pop Up Culture on behalf of Crawley Borough Council reserves the rights to photograph exhibits for education and publicity purposes however we cannot guarantee to include artists’ names but will endeavour to do so whenever feasible and considered reasonable.

Full participating terms and conditions will be emailed to artists once they have been selected to show their artwork at Crawley’s first Contemporary Art Summer Exhibition. Good Luck.

All open call entries must be received by 9 am on the 1st of June, 2024.

It is not limited to one location, but spread across multiple venues in Crawley, making it easy for everyone to visit and enjoy the diverse range of artworks on display. We believe that art should be for everyone, and our multiple locations reflect this commitment to accessibility.
